Cubot P40 VS Cubot P30
Newer is not always better and it's not always better in every way. Cubot's P30 is a powerhouse and in many ways, Cubot has outdone themselves and the market with the launch of the Cubot P40 probably the best budget quad-core phone out today.

The Cubot P30 has a bigger and higher definition screen than the P40. A screen size difference of 0.1 inches is not much of a difference but the Cubot P30's screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 to the P40's 1520 X 720 screen resolution is a huge difference. Screen resolution will affect the way you use your phone for example if you were going to download a video and the options for that video included a resolution standard that your phone was not capable of displaying you may decide to download the lower resolution version. Lower resolution media uses less space so you may be happy with the trade-off.
Another example of how screen resolution will affect the way you use your phone would be graphics settings, say you were playing a game with high-end graphics and experiencing lag, one way to play the game more smoothly would be to reduce graphic settings and if the graphic settings are already higher than your phone's screen is capable of displaying anyway it's not much of a loss.
The last example I am going to give of how screen resolution affects use would be everyday browsing. Screen resolution corresponds with PPI (Pixels Per Inch), high PPI means that the display displays more pixels per square inch meaning that the pixels are can denser or closer together than lower PPI displays resulting in a more accurate sharper-looking screen. And it also means going back to our everyday example that the higher resolution screen displays are faster to browse on as they can show more pixels on the screen at once. Below is an example of our product page for a Cubot P40 Case one is 800 x 600 resolution and the other is in 1280 x 720 resolution, hopefully, this gives you an idea of how a pixel density is of benefit beyond high definition media. The gap between the Cubot P40 and Cubot P30's Pixel density is even greater than our example images.

Personally I would rather a higher resolution screen you can always lower a phones graphic settings to less than its display is capable of but you cannot increase a phones display to more than it is capable of.

P40

Removability: Detachable battery
Not only does the Cubot P40 have a bigger slightly bigger battery than the Cubot P30 its battery is also detachable. You can actually replace undetachable batteries with special equipment that usually comes with a replacement or spare battery. There are reasons you may want to replace the battery and here are three.
One: Damage can reduce the quality of the battery or even be the complete death of the battery's life. Water or impact are two ways the phone battery can be damaged and to potential causes of you needing a replacement.
Two: Batteries degrade over time a backup battery is an easy way to preserve the longevity of your Android. Number two may not be an issue for you as technology moves so fast and by the time the battery starts to degrade you may want to completely upgrade your phone anyway.
3: Battery drain is a problem that has been plaguing Android phones for years, a phone with a detachable battery always has the option of easily switching a tired battery out for a fresh one.
With any of these options, a detachable battery may be slightly cheaper when you factor in the cost of replacement tools and is more convenient.

Cubot Max 5 OTG
You need to use OTG with the Max 5 and I'll tell you why. Cubot's Max 5 is an OTG phone which is not surprising given Cubot's track record and the specific selling point of the Max 5. OTG Can be used to enhance the 256GB internal memory with a flash drive, this specifically is important because you cannot increase the internal memory with an SD card. OTG works with Android and even console controllers so if you plan to use the Max 5 because of its selling point this may be a must-use feature.
