Cubot X50 Review Read Before Purchasing
Wondering if the X50 for you, you may or may not want to change your mind depending on what you learn in this review.

Is the Cubot X50 good for a Cubot phone or good for any Android, in this review, we will cover its specification concerning the other Cubot phones and Androids to help you determine if this is or is not the phone for you.

This is based purely on the specifications and price os although it is informative benefits stated here may not reflect the actual performance of the Cubot X50 Phone.

Tips For Buying Android Phones From Chinese Brands

Cubot X50 Battery And Charging Review

According to Cubot the X50's 4500mah battery gives the X50 phone 450 hours on standby 20 hours of music and 8 hours of video. Battery time is dependant on use so what Cubot has given us is just an estimate. The main things to take away from this are the charging options or lack of. The X50 does not have quick charging which is twice as fast a standard charging and it does not have wireless charging either. If your someone who charges their phone at the last minute or who prefers wireless charging these are notches against the Cubot X50.

Cubot X50 CPU Fortnite And Gaming

The X50 uses an MT6771V/CA CPU in almost the same format as the Doogee N20 Pro with a small difference the X50 has 8GB of ram ( random access memory) the memory use to run the task to task activities. To give you some idea of what to expect from the X50 performance for gaming and other tasks we will use the Doogee N20 Pro's feats as an example of what the X50 should at least be capable of seeing as the N20 Pro uses the same CPU but with 6GB of Ram.

The N20 Pro can easily play Call Of duty mobile with medium or high setting so expect the same and more from the X50.

The X50 Pro more than meets the requirements for Fortnite so if you are a Fortnite fan wondering if the X50 Pro can help you fulfil your gaming needs don't worry.

Fortnite Requirements

Design And Colour

The X50 comes in black or green, black is pretty generic but green not so much, if like Billie Elish green is your favourite colour perhaps you like the X50 in green maybe the option will sway your vote.

The Fingerprint is located to the side which is more convenient than the back in my opinion but to each his own.

The Cubot X50 dimensions are 171 mm long 75mm wide and 9mm thick and the Screen is 6.67 inches and displays in 1080 X 2400 Full High definition resolution.

For the price the Screen and resolution are excellent value for money but keep in mind screens can be scratched and broken, don't get this phone without buying a screen protector unless one is already installed by your vendor. If you know you are clumsy or perhaps need something that is less likely to get damaged consider a more rugged phone or at least something with Gorilla glass. If you're still considering the X50 think about getting a case and screen protector they help to protect the phone and the cases have other benefits.

The Cubot X50's Connectivity Options

As of 2020 Cubot has upped their connectivity game but connectivity features are only really useful to those who use them. If you see yourself using or not using any of the following connectivity features the Cubot X50 has or does not have it this next section may help you sum up the X50.

NFC For Contactless

NFC or near field communication for long is the feature that lets you pay for things with contactless payment. NFC has other uses but for most people, that's the main one if you have seen the symbol anywhere maybe could see yourself using it. In the UK on our public transport system, we have NFC symbols everywhere so you can download maps and other information straight to your Cubot X50.

OTG For USB

OTG or USB on the Go is a feature that allows compatibility between Android phones and USB devices. If you are the type who wants to game using your console controller or an android phone controller the X50 gives you the option.

USB devices are numerous, I'm sure you already have some like flash drives which you can connect to the X50 to access more memory or USB mouses. Cubot has produced other phones with OTG.

Bluetooth 5.0 For Wireless

All Cubots have Android but not all Cubot's have Bluetooth 5.0, not many China brands have Bluetooth version 5.0, 5.0 is more energy-efficient and faster than previous versions. The most common way to use Bluetooth for phone users is to connect your phone to wireless headphones. I like to use wireless headphones when I am working out or tidying because that way I do not have to be restricted to my device's position. If you already do or could see yourself doing that then a Bluetooth 5.0 phone like the X50 is for you.

Type-C

Type-C USB is the only direct USB connection the Cubot X50 has you can use a 3.5mm adapter and OTG cables to connect your X50 to OTG and 3.5mm devices.

Internet Options

Cubot X50 5G?

With Cubot X50 you get Wifi with two frequencies. You get the typical 2.4GHZ frequency and also the less typical 5.0GHZ frequency. 5.0GHZ wifi is weaker than 2.4GHZ wifi it cannot travel through walls either. Because 5.0GHZ wifi cannot travel through walls the signals don't bump into each other. In theory, 5.GHZ is faster than 2.4GHZ in short distances.

To use the 5.0GHZ frequency, you need to have a dual rooter. If you do not have a dual rooter and you do not want to buy one 5.0GHZ is an option you may never use. 5.0GHZ is not 5G

Network

Your phone network options for wireless internet with the Cubot X50 are either 3G or 4G. With Dual sim capabilities, you can use two sim cards at once or one sim card and one sd card because one of the sim card slots is a hybrid slot meaning that it is both a sim slot and SD card slot.

The Cubot X50 can support an SD card with up to 256GB so you may want to use one.

Cubot X50 Memory Review

Minus the cost of apps and the actual operating system, the Cubot X50 has 128GB of internal memory which can be boosted with a memory card. If 128GB is enough memory for you and you are not willing to forgo dual sim then it's no problem. But before you make that decision consider how long you will use the phone 128GB may not even last some 10 months. To help put things context of your individual use here are some examples much memory usage. We already mentioned Fortnite as an example of memory use.

This is a page about the Cubot C30's memory but the information given is directly applicable to the X50 and will help you understand how much memory you may need.
